Christine Quitt—Co-Lead Pastor
As a mother of four, I love that I get the opportunity to partner with my husband Shawn, by sharing God’s Word, leading women’s ministry while continuing to build a strong marriage and a loving home. What motivates me to get up every day is seeing others realize their value, discover their place in the body of Christ and connect with each other to walk out their faith in meaningful relationships. There’s nothing more precious than to see loving relationship cultivated and honoring God.
I remember when the Lord started speaking to my heart to strengthen and encourage others. My background was so dysfunctional to say the least; I didn’t think I could qualify. After receiving Christ, my whole life changed! I knew what He had done for me; I wanted other to experience this amazing love! (I was 17 years old and a senior in high school when I had Jesus change my life!) In 1987, November 1st my then boyfriend and I got baptized in the river! It was snowing that day and I felt like I died and came back to life! It was transforming! The very next day life changed forever! The evening of November 2, 1987 the police came to our door and told my step mother and myself that my dad had been killed, later to find out murdered! We were devastated; life would never be the same! For me my dad was the only stability I ever really knew. I was very close with my mother and lived with her in my early years but she dealt with mental illness all my life and it was very hard growing up. She was institutionalized and hospitalized many times over my life and it was extremely painful to experience. It caused great devastation in my life when she would have a break down; from child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, rape and depression for me and most I kept to myself until I knew I needed healing when I met my then boyfriend now husband…Only because I had receive Jesus and was baptized the day before my father’s death am I alive today.
In 1989 I was married to the love of my life and best friend and life began for us. Through the years we have been through even more devastating things, my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and 4 surgeries for a span of years. It was more than I could handle and I had to fight for my faith! (It will all be told in my book) We had financial challenges and lost our home, lost my mother and much more. My husband shouldn’t be alive today but because of our faith and trust in Jesus as our savior and stand on the word of God, we have seen miracles happen and can serve the Lord together today! Through the many years of laying myself at the altar and literally standing on the Word, I began to understand the goodness of God and His love for me even in my darkest hours, He carried me. I want to see other women experience the same love and faith! There is nothing that God can not heal! As I’ve matured in ministry and grown in my love for the Lord and His church as well as His people, I've learned that it's not that difficult to live this life out and love others the way Jesus desires! I now lead through the lens that has been broken with many shards and placed back together to be used and a chosen vessel to show others the way God sees them. I desire to see lives that have been broken see their value and beauty. As a mother, wife, friend and pastor I want the house of God to have healthy sons and daughters no matter what their past is. That there is a future and a hope that He brings that is amazing!
My heart is to create an atmosphere that unifies and empowers women of all seasons of life to reach their full potential in Christ and receive healing if needed that is what Faith Christian Center’s Women’s ministry is all about. I am blessed to lead such a beautiful and loving group of ladies.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
AT THE HEART OF WHAT I DO, I TRULY BELIEVE THAT WOMEN ARE BETTER TOGETHER. WE NEED EACH OTHER.
My vision for “Women of Faith” from the beginning was that we, as women, would understand that we’re better together, to learn to trust and build authentic and meaningful friendships. I believe we reach our destinies through the spiritual family God places us in. That’s why we strive to establish a ministry environment that encourages women to embrace God’s design for them and strengthen each other in their love for Jesus and others.
I am also very passionate about Outreach Ministry. I work with local city agencies to better my community. I am extremely invested in here in the Rogue Valley as well as the Chairman of the Jackson County Homeless Task Force, sit on the board of Hope and Futre Ministries and involved in many of the work groups of the CoC. I say I help the helpless, homeless, hopeless as well as the hopeful!
